Can You Ride a Hoverboard on Gravel

Can You Ride a Hoverboard on Gravel? We Found Out.

A member of our team recently asked the question, can you ride a hoverboard on gravel? This immediately sparked interest in the rest of us and we decided to find out the answer ourselves. We reached out to numerous companies that have experience with hoverboards and spoke with several users to get their thoughts on this matter. Now, we are ready to share our findings! Read on to learn more about whether or not you can safely ride your hoverboard on gravel roads, trails or any other surfaces that contain dirt, rocks or small pebbles.

If you’re one of the many who rushed out to get your hands on the new-to-the-world hoverboard, you might be wondering what kinds of surfaces this board can handle. After all, it can only move in two dimensions so you might want to take it off-road to see what happens! Can You Ride a Hoverboard on Gravel? We Found Out.

How to Test If a Tire Is Big Enough

After shopping for hoverboards, we ended up choosing two models from TaoTronics, one being an all-terrain version with larger tires (and two more fat tires) and bigger engines. The other model had smaller tires that could handle most surfaces including gravel roads—but how would it perform?

This lead us to our first test: Can you ride a hoverboard on gravel? For comparison’s sake, we took out a non-hovering scooter (with 8.5-inch wheels) and tested its ability to roll over different terrains. Sure enough, its performance was terrible when going over any type of terrain other than pavement or smooth concrete sidewalks; its tires kept getting stuck in ruts or sliding off stones/gravel patches. So can you ride a hoverboard on gravel? In short: No.

Other Important Factors For Choosing A Hoverboard

Now that you know about wheel size, let’s talk about other factors for choosing a hoverboard. When shopping for a hoverboard, don’t forget to think about other key considerations such as weight capacity, battery life and material quality. For example, you want to make sure your hoverboard can carry up to 275 pounds of weight before considering it. This will ensure maximum safety and comfort while riding it because heavier individuals will be able to use it just as effectively as lighter ones can.

Choosing The Best 12 Inch & 14 Inch Tires

Longer hoverboard tires are designed for use on rougher surfaces, including grass and dirt. So, if you want to ride your hoverboard in areas where there is no pavement or sidewalk, we recommend a hoverboard with 12 inch or 14 inch tires.

These are great all-terrain wheels that will help you traverse rough terrain easily while maintaining traction and control over your board as well as giving you an overall smoother ride than shorter tires can deliver. Riding your board in rougher conditions is no problem with these bigger tires because they have more surface area (just like any other tire would) so they don’t sink into soft ground as much when cruising over it at high speeds as smaller 6.5 inch hoverboard tires do!

Another advantage of using larger tires is that you won’t get stuck in mud, snow or sand nearly as often. Also, large wheels tend to be less affected by uneven terrain and bumps which means they are easier to ride than small ones. And finally, larger hoverboard tires also look better since their diameter looks better proportioned on a standard size hoverboard deck.

Choosing The Best 16 Inch Tires

For hoverboards with a 6.5 inch tire, you will want to buy ones that are 8 inches or larger in order to be able to go over grass and gravel without much trouble at all. So far, we have found two 16 inch hoverboard tires that work great for beginners – one being made by Arborday and another being made by Robust Technology Ltd., located in China. There is no reason not to go with Arborday as they are easy to find, relatively cheap (as far as hoverboard parts go) and they also deliver good performance when it comes to riding on gravel and dirt roads alike.

For beginners looking for ease of use and affordability, there isn’t much better than these 16 inch hoverboard tires from Arborday!
